ACC U19 Practice Match: Nepal gave poor start to their "Trophy" hope

Nepal U19 Vs Bangladesh U19 (First Practice Match)

Nepal: 70 all out (33.2 overs)
Bangladesh: 74/0 (11 overs)

Nepal lost to Bangladesh by 10 wickets.

Nepal had failed to showcase the "confidence" captain Prithu Baskota had talked about in the first practice match. Nepal was nowhere in the match and performed poorly in both batting and bowling department. With 4 batsmen going for ducks, Nepal managed to score merely 70 runs in 33.2 overs. Bowlers failed to impress as well, as Bangladeshi openers romped to victory in just 11 overs.

Though it is just a practice match, it has exposed the weaknesses of the team, and leaves a big question mark over their "Trophy" challenges. Not the kind of performance Nepali fans were expecting from the team.

Nepali fans have shown their rage towards Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) for the poor schedule, not providing enough time for the team to adapt to the International level. Bear in mind, Afghanistan U19 team has been practicing in Pakistan since early January.

Nepali team is a quick learner as the history suggests. Nepali team had been playing brilliantly in the past series without enough practice, so Nepali fans are still hopeful that the performance will improve with time and Nepal will showcase a champion performance in ACC U19 trophy.
