Pakistan can win the cricket world cup 2011

Cosmic Cricket has a feeling...this Pakistani team could win the world cup. We have been amazed by the kind of performances Pakistan have shown in this tournament so far. With every bit of challenges, they have become stronger. In today's quarter final clash with West Indies, Pakistan dominated their rival in every department. The batting looked as superb as the bowling and West Indies had no choice but to make a   shameful exit.

This quarter final match could not be as excited as it should be. In this stage, we expect closed competition, but it rather turned to be one-sided. The highest wicket-taker, skipper Shahid Afridi, carried his good form in this match and took 3 crucial wickets. He was well supported by Saeed Ajmal, who took 2 wickets. But the real show stealer was Mohammad Hafeez, who starred in both ball and bat. He, along with Umar Gul, opened the bowling for Pakistan and
destroyed the West Indian top orders. He claimed wickets of dangerous Smith and Bravo. West Indies must have some planning when they chose to bat after winning the toss, but they could never implement them in the match. Shivnaraine Chandrapaul tried to prolong the team's inning, but he could not prevent West Indies to fall for a humiliating score of 112.

Pakistan assured that they would give no chance of happiness to their rival. Both openers Kamran Akmal and Mohammad Hafeez played sensibly, giving some hard time for Roach and Rampaul, who had good world cup so far. No bowler could make an impact, and Pakistan eventually won the match by 10 wickets. Mohammad Hafeez scored 61 (64 balls) and remained unbeaten along with Kamran Akmal (47 runs, 61 balls).

Pakistan had difficult 2010. They had their internal problems, which saw many of their senior players losing places in the team. Pakistan had to make entirely a new team with new faces, who hadn't played in the international matches. The initial periods were tough, as they had to play away from their homes. The series of defeat could have discouraged these young bloods, but they came out  more fierce and more determined. The recent 3-2 series victory in New Zealand was the sign that they were ready for the world cup challenge. And till this moment, they have proved that they are here with only one ambition, to life the world cup. They are in semi-final now. And their next hurdle will be the winner of the match between India and Australia. Let see who is going to conquer the fort.
