New captain Ross Taylor faces stiff challenge ahead

Ross Taylor has to face arch rival Australia in his first campaign as a captain of New Zealand cricket team. New Zealand will play at the home of Kangaroos in 2 test match series starting on December 1, 2011. This short tour will be a great test of the leadership skills of Taylor who was fairly selected from the recommendation of New Zealand Cricket director John Buchanan, coach John Wright and Acting National Selection Manager Mark Greatbatch.

Year 2010 had not been a great one for Kiwis as they lost series one after one. In 22 ODI matches they played, they could only win 6 matches. The most embarrassing moments were losing 8 straight matches in the subcontinents against Bangladesh and India. If we avoid one abandoned match against Bangladesh, they were whitewashed both by Bangladeshi and Indian in all ODI matches.

New Zealand Cricket believes that the team will play with new spirit under the captaincy of Ross Taylor.
